Well, its authors have, anyway.
We're watching the sunset from Napili, on the island of Maui, where Brian's work as a travel writer has brought him and Barbara's vacation has brought her. Like the folks in the photo here, we've spent a few days watching surfer dudes and sampling some sunny beaches.
Barbara worked on a scene from "Corpse of Discovery" today as she sat around the pool at our Napili Village condo -- a scene involving a place called "Dismal Nitch" on the route of Lewis and Clark. The poolside setting beneath palms and plumeria gave her the fortitude to write about a place known for cold and misery.
Among other things, our visit here will also help with research for future writing about Hester's loyal sidekick (and driver), Ethel Pimala, a native of these islands. We took a day trip yesterday to the island of Lana`i, where the majority population is Filipino-Hawaiian, reflecting Pim's ethnic heritage.
We're happy to report that in the past two weeks readership of 'Murdermobile' has almost doubled since the one-month anniversary. If you like it, please tell your friends, or write a review on Amazon or Goodreads. That's what fuels this little fire. Aloha!
